Yamaha Music School Zagreb (YMS) program opens to music lovers
October 23, 2021 – The well-known Yamaha Music School (YMS) music program, present today in more than forty countries around the world, arrived in Zagreb this fall, at the new school in Tuskanova 37. The new one Zagreb Yamaha Music The school is already attracting a lot of attention.
As Poslovni Dnevnik / Lucija Spiljak writes, on October 21, an open house was held and those interested had the opportunity to try out the popular Yamaha Music School singing programs, acoustic, classical and electric guitars, bass guitars, drums, keyboards and pianos, saxophones, violins and flutes. They were conducted as part of the programs by mentors and certified experts.
The concept of YMS is based on a unique structured program followed by books and materials from beginner to professional level. The hallmark, as they say of YMS, is the group musical creation and emphasis on the creativity and individuality of the participants, and a less traditional approach which, as they claim, often results in a loss of motivation and a distancing from the music a subject.
YMS licensor Olja Desic says the new school is already filling their existing groups and they are forming new ones due to the large number of interested people in Zagreb. They already have over 180 students and there is a growing interest in individual lessons, and the mentors at YMS are happy that people want to develop their musicality.
“There are no non-musicians, only talents to be discovered, and that goes for children, adolescents and adults. Anyone who wants to bring music back into their life, to become musicians or just amateurs. pattern is a good pattern, ” Desic says.
The new Zagreb Yamaha Music School is therefore aimed at all generations – from the age of one and a half, children can start schooling in all kinds of fields of entertainment, and for children over eight years old. – including adults (without upper age limit), they have a developed program followed by Yamaha Music Education manuals; various modern instruments, but also classical ones such as the violin, the transverse flute, the piano and the classical guitar. Desic also referred to the teachers at the new Yamaha Music School in Zagreb. which, as she says, are very carefully chosen.
“The unique method of group teaching in which all of our teachers have mastered the necessary skills, and in which there are books written and sound recordings just for this way of working, is the greatest gem of YMS, and it is proven every day in practice.
We carefully select the people we want to work with, respecting the established quality standards of knowledge, skills, professional achievements and, in particular, personalities that YMS needs. Those who respond to our call have several important steps to access this system, the quality of which is extremely controlled: they pass an online theoretical and practical exam evaluated by a committee in Hamburg, and are required to attend methodological seminars before to start working, ” she said.
The first Yamaha Music School was founded in Japan in 1954, and to date it is present in around 40 countries, with over 6,000 schools, through which more than 30 million students have passed to date.
The first Croatian branch was opened in Rijeka in 2019, followed by Cakovec, and now the Zagreb Yamaha Music School is open. YMS Rijeka has almost reached full capacity in just two years and currently has around 250 participants, and YMS Cakovec has around 80.
