Widespread Panic & Conscious Alliance Donates Over 900 Musical Instruments Following “Tunes For Tots” [Video]
Back on June 24, Generalized panic organized its 11th edition Tunes for toddlers benefit in Denver, CO Mission ballroom. The collaboration with Conscious Alliance raised funds to provide underserved communities with musical instruments for schoolchildren. Last week, Widespread Panic and Conscious Alliance donated over 900 musical instruments to schools on the Pine Ridge Reservation, SD.
Home to more than 40,000 members of the Oglala Lakota Nation, the Pine Ridge Reservation received 910 various musical instruments, including percussion cymbals, flutes, guitars and keyboards in its four high schools, Pine Ridge High School, Crazy Horse High School, Little Wound High School. , and Red Cloud High School. In addition to supporting schools, donations from Widespread Panic and Conscious Alliance benefit the Lakota Flute Society and Rock The Rez music program for young people.
“While earning their flutes, young people also learn to become powerful spokespersons for their generation as effective spiritual healers through music.” Will peterssaid an instructor at the Lakota Flute Society and a teacher at Pine Ridge High School.

The June benefit concert raised over $ 215,000 for music programs on the Pine Ridge Reservation, adding to the nearly $ 2,000,000 Widespread Panic has since raised. Tunes for toddlers began in 2005. The show marked Panic’s first time on stage since March 2, 2020 before the pandemic and kicked off the summer tour, immediately preceding a three-night run at Amphitheater of the Red Rocks.
