Tejano Music Recording Academy to Donate Instruments to San Antonio High School’s Conjunto Program – Tejano Nation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Tejano Music Recording Academy (TMRA) will donate musical instruments to benefit Southside High School Conjunto Cardenales. Los Cardenales is San Antonio’s first high school conjunto band started by a music teacher Anna Bustamante.

The donation will be presented on May 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Southside High School Auditorium, located at 19120 US Hwy 281.

Presenters will include the President of TMRA Francisco Chapatwice winner of the Premios Tejano Mundial Male Vocal Performance of the Year Jesse Turner of signgno, Conjunto Cats accordionist Zeke Camposbrothers Tristan Ramos and Dylan Ramosteen singer Mia Garciaand Signo Kid.

Turner is the lead vocalist and accordionist of Siggno, the chart-topping Tejano band from Santa Rosa, Texas known for their Rockteno style. Zeke, Tristan, Dylan and Mia are young emerging Tejano artists, the Following generation.

Musical instruments to be donated include a Hohner accordion and a sexto Ymagen bajo guitar. These instruments were presented to the TMRA at La Segunda Entrega de Los Premios Tejano Mundial 2022. The Hohner accordion was provided by accordionist Texas Latino Arthur “Tweet” Juarez and the bajo sexto by ES Ymagen Guitars.
