Netizens bid farewell to Internet Explorer’s ‘Chrome Downloader’ with hilarious memes
Microsoft on Thursday announced it would shut down Internet Explorer on June 15, 2022, after 25 years and be replaced by Microsoft Edge, prompting many social media users to react with posts and memes as for many it was the first browser they used.

In a blog post on Thursday, Microsoft wrote, “Today we’re on the next step in that journey: we’re announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge.
Previously, Microsoft announced that its 365 services would no longer be supported on Internet Explorer. Microsoft has not previously released any security updates for the existing older version of Microsoft Edge since it stopped supporting it on March 9, 2021.
Internet users are saying goodbye to Internet Explorer with funny memes and messages. Some joked about the lack of Explorer because they used it to download Chrome, while others scoffed at the fact that it took the longest to close.

Internet Explorer was launched in 1995 and was one of the most popular tools used by people to access the Internet back then. Between 1995 and 2013, Microsoft released 11 versions of Internet Explorer. Ever since Firefox and Chrome hit the market, people have stopped using Internet Explorer because the latest browsers were much faster.
