Lanarkshire School of Music Children’s Rock Theater with Summer Showcase
Students at the Village School of Music (VSOM) delighted audiences with everything from Tchaikovsky to Lewis Capaldi as their annual summer showcase returned post-pandemic.
Performances came from RockClub, VSOM’s mixed-instrument rock band for ages 14-19, RockStarz, their mixed-instrument rock band for ages 8-13, and FiddleClub.

Highlights include Erin Sibbald’s electrifying solo piano performance of Chilly Gonzales’ “Evolving Doors” and seven-year-old Charlotte Dyers’ first-ever solo guitar performance playing Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habit.” and Lewis Capalidi hit “Someone You Loved”.
And RockClub, featuring Freya Talbot (vocals), Keira Bogachev (bass) and Matthew Duncan (drums) caused a stir with four back-to-back rock classics from Queen, The Beach Boys, Blondie and Elvis for the jaw-dropping finale.
Producers Jamie and Lucy Finn said: “At each concert, we are amazed at how much the students are growing as musicians – it’s a real honor to be part of their musical journey.
The Village School of Music is East Kilbride’s oldest music school with a staff of 15 professional music teachers teaching 10 different instruments.
They offer private and group lessons suitable for complete beginners as well as experienced players of all ages.
