Hoff-Barthelson School of Music announces summer arts program

Still looking for a summer program for your kids? The Hoff-Barthelson School of Music is the perfect setting for a safe, stimulating, stimulating, fun and socially distance summer art program for students in Grades 1 to 12.

This year’s summer art program provides a great opportunity for students to start learning, explore new possibilities, make dramatic progress, and make lasting friendships.

Space is limited to 45 students per session and is on a first come, first served basis. Early registration is encouraged. Early bird discounts available until May 31. Needs-based financial assistance is available.

For the youngest (Grades 1 to 6), the Junior Summer Art Program is a great way to try out new instruments for the first time, to discover their particular passion (s) , to progress quickly on instruments that they may already be studying and to discover the joys of playing with others.

For older students (Grades 7 to 12), the Summer Graduate Arts Program offers the opportunity to perform together in large and small ensemble configurations, exploring new instruments and musical styles.

Students are offered a variety of course options for each session including orchestra, chamber music, group instrument lessons, piano for non-pianists, world percussion, jazz ensemble, improvisation, music history , music theory and composition with technology.

After enrollment, students and families meet with Summer Art Program Director Joseph Piscitelli to create a daily schedule tailored to their individual needs and interests. Students receive personalized attention on a daily basis from talented teachers with decades of experience.

The program will take place in two two-week sessions. Session 1: June 28 – July 9; Session 2: July 12 to 23. Each session will host the junior and senior levels. Junior: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday to Friday; Senior: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. (The school will be closed on July 5 for Independence Day.)

The Hoff-Barthelson School of Music is located at 25 School Lane Scarsdale, NY 10583. For more information on the program, Click here or dial 914-723-1169.

Hoff-Barthelson will also offer summer courses in person and online – for all ages, including adults. Loss of learning in the summer – the erosion of skills learned over an entire school year that results from putting aside musical studies over the summer – is one of the most troublesome enemies of music teachers. On average, students who drop out of music studies during the 12-week summer vacation lose 2.5 months of hard-earned earnings, often catching up to their playing level from June through the end of November.

Students who continue to practice and take classes during the summer continue to develop their skills and thus enjoy considerable benefits.

Because summer is a season of recreation, travel, and new adventures for students and teachers, the Hoff-Barthelson summer school program is designed to allow maximum flexibility. Teachers set their own schedules, as do families. Students can register for as many courses as they want.

Summer school students have the opportunity to participate in workshops and recitals in person and online at no additional cost. In-person escort service will also be available.

A 10% discount is available when purchasing packages of three or more lessons per student with a single teacher. Click here for more information.
